Risk Management

To keep our doctors informed of the constantly changing legal environment, and to ensure that our physicians have all of the necessary loss control measures in place, NJ PURE is proud to introduce our Loss Control and Risk Management seminars and e-learning modules.

The CME accredited online program is a joint venture with Advanced Practice Strategies (APS) and is designed to provide our doctors with the tools needed to eliminate frivolous claims and to enable them to provide better claims defense. The research behind this online loss control educational series was gathered from information obtained from clinical peer review cases, as well as facts surrounding the most catastrophic malpractice lawsuits in the United States.

Together with APS, NJ PURE aims to reduce the claims made by our physicians. To begin, please click on the login button below.

Periodically, NJ PURE offers free accredited seminars to our members. Topics relevant to current practice and the most up to date Risk Management research are presented by experts in their fields. Attendance at one of these live programs can be applied to the LCRM education requirement in place of the online modules, if you so choose.

Next scheduled seminar:

Our next live seminar will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Saddle Brook Marriott, located at the Garden State Parkway and I-80 from 6PM-9PM. Dinner will be served.

The featured speaker is James W. Saxton, Esquire. Mr. Saxton is Chair of the Healthcare Litigation and Risk Management Group and Co-Chair of Health Law at Stevens & Lee. His presentation is entitled "Five-Star Customer Service: Reduce Liability and Enhance Your Practice."

Denoting excellence, five-star customer service is a foundation for loyal physician-patient relationships, effective communication, improved patient compliance and accountability, and increased reimbursement. "This program will provide physicians with an understanding of why five-star is important both from a liability point of view and from practice economics. A process to get started will be introduced and lessons learned will be reviewed" (Saxton, 2011).

The program announcement and details will be mailed soon. Any questions should be directed to Bonnie Gagliardi, Loss Control Risk Management Supervisor at 877-265-7873 or bgagliardi@njpure.com.
